A Message to Our Community: Social Distancing, New Store Hours, and One-Day Closure on Tuesday March 17th

A Message to Our Community:

The Harvest Market staff is closely monitoring and following the guidance and recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Delaware Division of Public Health.

Please know that your safety and the safety of our staff members are our top priority during this crisis.

With this in mind, we ask that you please follow the advised social distancing protocol while shopping at the store and maintain a minimum of six feet between yourself and other customers and our staff members when possible.

This is a public health recommendation from the highest levels which can dramatically reduce the transmission of COVID-19. This is just one way in which altering your actions now can positively affect the worsening situation and save lives.

As discussed in this article, Flatten the Curve, it is imperative for the well-being of our community that we all operate under these new guidelines as quickly as possible. Please take the time to review this article.

Please understand that this may require us to limit the number of customers shopping in the store at one time so as to maintain a safe range of distance for everyone. When this is necessary, we will post a staff member at the door to monitor the flow of customers and advise people when there is enough space to safely continue. This may require you to wait in your car in the parking lot for a short period of time.

Again, we ask for your patience in advance while we develop and implement creative solutions to continue to provide you with the same high-quality food and products as we have always done, in a manner that assures everyone’s safety, to the best of our ability.

In order to give staff the space and time to complete their jobs in a safe manner, we will be closing the store for ONE DAY ONLY on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

We are using this day to process a massive delivery and replenish the products as efficiently and quickly as possible, while also performing a deep clean of the store. Due to the social distancing space we need to maintain, from each other, as well as the customers, this necessitates more room to freely move product around the store.

Due to the strain placed upon the supply chain, we have no control over when the shipments will arrive, therefore please understand that this is the best solution to restock the entire store and inconvenience as few customers as possible for the remaining week.

When the store reopens on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, we will be shortening our store hours to 9am-7pm, Monday-Saturday, with Sunday hours remaining 10am-6pm at this time.

This will also allow staff to have more time to stock, clean and prepare for each day, as well as maintain safety protocols while closing each night.

You are all aware that the volume of products we are processing through the store has increased exponentially. Our courageous and committed staff have been powering through to continue to provide you the same level of excellent customer service. Please accord them your respect and continuing patience.

It has been our mission for 25 years to serve our community and we are committed to continuing to do so in this unprecedented time of crisis. We believe that providing nourishing food is critical to staying healthy during this challenging period. We will continue to communicate any changes that we must make at the store for operational and safety reasons.

We are in this together and are here for you and your families. Thank you.
