Cows Grazing

Where does your milk come from?

Lancaster Local Organic non-homogenized milk comes from small local farms milking less than 65 cows. Many of these farms have been in the same family for many generations. The love for working the land and cattle has been handed down many times. Cows stand in tall grass under shade trees and the daily chores are done by the whole family. The pasture lands are enriched by progressive mineral programs to ensure nutrient-dense milk for you to enjoy.

At Harvest Market, you can find the following non-homogenized Lancaster Local A2 milk products in Noluma packaging:

  • Whole Milk (half gallon and quart sizes)
  • Low-Fat Milk (half gallon)
  • Chocolate Milk (pint)

What Makes the A2 Difference?

Historically, milk contained only the A2 form of beta-casein. Today, most milk contains mostly A1 proteins. A1 and A2 proteins affect the body differently. When A1 protein is digested, it produces a peptide called beta-casomorphin-7 (BCM-7), which has been linked to stomach discomfort. The structure of A2 protein is more comparable to human breast milk, making it more easily digestible. Learn more about A2 milk and lactose intolerance here.

Lancaster Local MilkTradition Meets Technology

Did you know that light quickly damages milk quality? Lancaster Local milk comes in Noluma Light Protection Packaging, which keeps light from aging the fresh milk too quickly. Noluma Certified Light Protected Packaging is the only technology that measures the light protection capacity of packaging and its effects on the contents, protecting it from taste and vitamin degradation. You’ll be sure not to compromise the nutrients in your milk when you purchase Lancaster Local milk.
