Tierra Farm is a Certified Organic manufacturer and distributor of nuts and dried fruits, located 20 miles south of Albany, New York. Their customers consist mainly of cooperatives and independently owned grocery stores that value working with an employee-owned, environmentally conscious company that manufactures its own products. Tierra Farm started as a diversified organic vegetable farm in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The organic nuts and dried fruit portion of the business started in 1999, as a way to generate income in the slower winter months. That portion of the business continued to thrive into what it has become today and the original farm continues on.
One of Tierra Farm’s core values has been to cultivate strong relationships with the best organic farmers in the world. Every year, they purchase an increasing amount of their nuts, seeds and dried fruit directly from the farms, some of which Tierra has worked with for over a decade. Tierra Farm maintains a high level of knowledge and communication with their farmers, which allows them to preserve their organic integrity and ensure fair business practices throughout the supply chain.
We offer our customers exceptional value through Tierra Farm’s unbeatable quality at prices that are fair both to the consumer and to the farmer. Tierra Farm’s products are made without added oils or refined sugars, in a peanut-free facility. Tierra Farm manufactures every product they sell: from dry roasting and flavoring nuts and seeds to blending trail mixes, grinding butter, covering nuts and fruits in chocolate, and roasting fair trade coffee, everything is made in small, hand-crafted batches for freshness.
Tierra Farm handles only Certified Organic products which are grown without synthetic pesticides, genetically modified organisms, or chemical fertilizers. This helps sustain biodiversity, conserves fresh water, and enhances the soil. Tierra Farm generates over 70% of their electricity from solar panels and recycle over 60% of their waste. Their boxes are made from recycled cardboard and they are continuously looking for better ways to protect the planet.
Organic California Almonds
Tierra Farm is downright nuts for nuts! Right now, we encourage our customers to take advantage of the lowest cost of California almonds in three years (read more about that here). Harvest Market carries six almond varieties that Tierra Farm roasts, including:
- Salted –Lightly salted with sea salt and dry roasted.
- Unsalted – Lightly dry roasted and crunchy.
- Garlic Roasted – The perfect snack for any occasion. Crisp and flavorful these will soon become your favorite healthy snack!
- Maple Glazed – A delicious combination of maple syrup, almonds and tamari soy sauce. More sweet than salty but quite delicious.
- Tamari – A top seller. Dry roasted almonds with a tamari soy sauce glaze. Richly flavored, light salt taste.
- Picante – Tierra Farm’s newest creation, a Picante Almond with Wheat-Free Tamari. A spicy and satisfying snack.
Gluten-Free Granola
Harvest Market offers a vast selection of granola, and Tierra Farm makes some of our best. Why do we say that? Tierra Farm makes one of the only granolas where every ingredient is Certified Organic. On top of that, their granola won a perfect score from the Cornucopia Institute. It is healthy and delicious and made without any refined sugars.
