This side dish is one of my family’s favorites. It is so simple and tasty, and goes well with a completely vegetarian dish, like Jamaican style Rice and Peas. If you eat meat, this dish also goes well with a spicy sausage. No matter what you chose to pair it with, a good hot sauce is essential!
You will need:
- 1 head organic green cabbage
- a little oil for the pan(I like coconut oil)
- sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
- Chop cabbage in half, remove core
- Chop into quarters, and then slice into 1 ½" strips
- Put about 1 TBS oil into skillet(I use cast iron)
- heat oil at a medium-high heat
- place cabbage into skillet and saute, constantly stirring until cabbage is heated through.
You should still have plenty of crispness, do not overcook!
Add a little sea salt and ground pepper to taste.
